With Kemba Walker on his way to Boston, the Charlotte Hornets will be replacing the franchise's all-time leading scorer with Celtics guard Terry Rozier.

Rozier, 25, will sign a three-year fully guaranteed $58 million deal with the Celtics and be sent to Charlotte, as Walker heads to the Celtics on a four-year, $141 million deal.

Drafted 16th overall in 2015, Rozier is most known for his breakout performance in the 2017 playoffs, where he averaged 16.5 points, 5.7 assists and 5.3 rebounds in 19 games as star point guard Kyrie Irving was out with an injury.

Boston made it to the Eastern Conference Finals two years ago with Rozier at the point before losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Throughout his career, Rozier has averaged just 7.7 points per game, but has been outspoken that he hasn't reached his full potential being a backup point guard in Boston.

“I don’t give a (expletive) what nobody say, I sacrificed the most out of anybody," Rozier said on ESPN last month. "I’m a top point guard in this league, I feel like it’s a fresh start, whether I’m here or whether I’m gone.”

Rozier was a restricted free agent but had his rights renounced once Boston elected to sign Walker to clear up max cap space.

With many assuming the Hornets would embrace a full-on tank to secure a higher draft pick, Charlotte will add onto its high payroll, owing Rozier around $19 million per season for the next three years.

Rozier believes he still has a chance to become a star guard in the league.

"I’m looking forward to a family," Rozier said last month. "A team that treats me like a family and that’s gonna invest in me all the way."
