The Charlotte Hornets eighth session of pre-draft workouts had a bit of star power added to the lineup.

North Carolina freshman forward Nassir Little and Virginia Tech sophomore guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker were two of the six NBA draft prospects working out for Charlotte on Friday morning.

Both Little and Alexander-Walker are projected to be potential lottery picks that could be available when the Hornets select 12th in the June 20 draft.

The most intriguing of the two is Little, who entered college at UNC as one of the top players out of high school and a projected top five pick in the NBA Draft.

Little struggled to fit into the Tar Heels' system and could never seem to find a consistent shot. Little averaged just 9.8 points per game, five rebounds and 0.7 assists in 36 games off the bench.

Many experts said Little would benefit by staying at UNC one more year but he decided to declare for the NBA Draft.

"At UNC those positions were kind of filled in," Little said. "In the NBA I think I can show my versatility a little bit more."

Little is projected to be drafted anywhere inside the lottery to falling into the late first round.

Little seemed to have an improved shot during the little time that media observed during pre-draft workouts and he told reporters afterward that he believes his shooting is underrated.

Alexander-Walker is another potential lottery pick that could fall late into the first round. Alexander-Walker looked solid from behind-the-line during pre-draft workouts but shot under 40 percent in his two seasons at Virginia Tech.

"I don't have to be a scorer necessarily," Alexander-Walker said. "Leaving college I'm transitioning a lot and working on my body."
