Kemba Walker On His Upcoming Free Agency

The Charlotte Hornets 2018-19 season officially came to an end on Wednesday without a playoff appearance for the third straight season.

Charlotte finished with a 39-43 record and fell just short of the Detroit Pistons for the final playoff spot.

The Hornets went through the first half of the season never getting above or below 1-2 games of a .500 record, but tough losses in the second half of the season ultimately pushed the Hornets out of the playoff picture.

Under first-year head coach James Borrego and general manager Mitch Kupchak, the season saw Kemba Walker make his first All-Star start in Charlotte, rookie Miles Bridges throw down many highlight dunks, a re-emergence of Frank Kaminsky, multiple game-winners from Jeremy Lamb, and young players such as Dwayne Bacon and Devonte' Graham shine in the final month of the season.

However, all of this wasn't enough and Charlotte now enters the offseason with a questionable future. Walker will be a free agent for the first time in his career and can easily leave the Hornets after eight years to join a contender.

Walker could also stay for a max contract and leave Charlotte with very little money to spend and many of the same players on the books.

Lamb is also a free agent and may not re-sign with the Hornets due to a lack of cap space as he is expecting a big pay-day.

Things could look a lot different in Charlotte next year.
