As we approach the 2019 NBA Trade Deadline, the Charlotte Hornets are expected to potentially make one or two deals to improve their playoff chances and try to shed some salary that will be tight this summer when point guard Kemba Walker is a free agent. Shooting guard Jeremy Lamb is a possible trade candidate as his contract is expiring this summer and he has had a breakout season that will more than likely take him out of the Hornets price range.

There have also been rumors that center Frank Kaminsky and shooting guard Malik Monk has been shopped by Charlotte.

While we're unsure whether or not Charlotte makes any moves, the Hornets/Bobcats have made a move at the deadline every year since the 2012-13 NBA season. Here is a look back at every trade deadline (or week of) move they have made since then.

2017-18:
Trade with New York

Charlotte sends forward Johnny O'Bryant and two second-round draft picks to New York.

Charlotte receives center Willy Hernangomez.

How it looks now: The Hornets used Hernangomez sparingly after acquiring him midseason, but he has averaged 7.4 points per game and 5.5 rebounds this season while filling in nicely in a crowded big man rotation for the Hornets.

2016-17:

Trade With Cleveland

Charlotte sends 2017 top 55 protected second-round pick to Cleveland.

Charlotte receives center Chris Anderson and cash.

How it looks now: Charlotte ended up waiving Anderson immediately as a salary dump. Basically, Charlotte received cash and served as a salary dump ground for Cleveland.

Trade With Milwaukee

Charlotte sends center Spencer Hawes to Milwaukee and center Roy Hibbert who was sent to Denver.

Charlotte receives center Miles Plumlee.

How it looks now: This was a really bad trade then and it's a really bad trade now. By trading for Plumlee, the Hornets took on his $50 million two-year deal. Plumlee ended up being a bust and was traded to Atlanta later that summer for center Dwight Howard. Howard was traded this past summer for center Timofey Mozgov who was then flipped to Orlando for Bismack Biyombo. Therefore, this is how the Hornets are stuck with Biyombo's large contract.

2015-16:

Trade With Memphis and Miami

Charlotte sends forward P.J Hairston to Memphis and guard Brian Roberts to Miami.

Charlotte receives shooting guard Courtney Lee from Memphis.

How it looks now: Charlotte filled a need for more wing depth by acquiring Lee and ended up clinching a playoff berth with Lee as a starter. Lee averaged almost nine points per game and played 30 minutes per game during his 28 games in Charlotte. Lee ended up leaving Charlotte in free agency for New York and hasn't made much of an impact in the league since. Therefore, the Hornets didn't lose much in this deal.

2014-15:

Trade With Minnesota

Charlotte sends guards Gary Neal, Troy Daniels, and a second-round draft picks to Minnesota.

Charlotte receives point guard Mo Williams.

How it looks now: Once again, this was another good deal at the time. Williams gave Kemba Walker, who was injured at the time, a reliable backup point guard and Williams was named Eastern Conference Player of The Week in March. Charlotte went 4-0 from Mar. 2 to 8 as Williams averaged 19.5 points and 10.8 assists in 35.5 minutes per game. Charlotte missed out on the playoffs but Williams averaged 17.2 points per game and six assists during his 27 games and 14 starts with the Hornets. Williams left the Hornets in free agency that summer.

2013-14:

Trade With Milwaukee

Charlotte sends guard Ramon Sessions and forward Jeff Adrian to Milwaukee.

Charlotte receives guards Luke Ridnour and Gary Neal.

How it looks now: The-then Bobcats were preparing for a playoff run and needed some back-court depth. Both Sessions and Adrian were free agents to be and Ridnour and Neal gave Charlotte two guards capable of spreading the floor. The Bobcats were eliminated by Miami in the playoffs but Neal ended up being the more impactful player for Charlotte. Neal was traded the year after Ridnour left in free agency.

2012-13:

Trade With Orlando

Charlotte sends forward Hakim Warrick to Orlando.

Charlotte receives forward Josh McRoberts.

How it looks now: Warrick hadn't made much of an impact since being acquired earlier in the season and Charlotte received a reliable veteran in McRoberts who averaged 9.3 points per game in 26 games the rest of the year. In 2014, McRoberts was a huge part in the Bobcats playoff run as he started 78 games and averaged 8.5 points, 4.8 points and 4.3 assists per game.
