Carolina Panthers outside linebacker Christian Miller has opted out of the 2020 NFL season due to COVID-19 concerns.
Miller, a 2019 fourth-rounder, is the second Panthers player this season to do so.
As a rookie in 2019, Miller played in seven games, racking up 2.0 sacks in Week 3 before dealing with an ankle injury the rest of the year.
It was anticipated that Miller would have the chance to be more a part of the rotation this season with Carolina going young on defense.
Panthers undrafted rookie linebacker Jordan Mack opted out of the season last week.
