Tom Brady is happy he does not have to see Eli Manning anymore, whether it is on the football field or the golf course.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback is scheduled to go head-to-head with Eli’s brother, Peyton Manning, in “The Match: Champions for Charity” golf tournament on May 24.
Peyton will be paired with Tiger Woods, while Brady will be paired with Phil Mickelson.
Brady and Peyton have gone toe-to-toe plenty of times on the gridiron, with Brady often coming out on top, besting Peyton 11 of the 17 times the two met throughout their careers.
When recently asked if he is tired of beating Peyton, Brady scoffed.
“No, you kidding me?” he said on the Stupodity podcast. “Eli’s the one that I’m actually happy I’m not playing.”
Eli and the Giants are responsible for two of Brady’s three Super Bowl losses, of course.
While we cannot say for sure what kind of a golfer Eli is, there is no doubt he has had great success against Brady when the stakes are high.
Peyton, however, has had plenty of time to hit the links since retiring in 2016, and is actually favored alongside Woods to beat Brady and Mickelson.
Of course, Eli and Brady can both attest that being the favorite doesn’t mean much.
