Carson Wentz and Alshon Jeffery apparently have a rocky relationship and could lead to a trade this offseason, something both the Eagles and Jeffery would welcome, according to a report from Connor Hughes of The Athletic

"League sources told The Athletic that Wentz and Jeffery never saw eye-to-eye and their relationship was testy," the report states. "The Eagles are looking to move Jeffery, league sources confirmed to The Athletic. And Jeffery would welcome the change of scenery."

Jeffery, of course, was reportedly outed as the source who bashed Wentz during the season. On top of that, Jeffery's play has declined dramatically over the last couple of seasons. In three seasons as an Eagles, the most catches Jeffery has had in a season was 65 in 2018. Jeffery is averaging just 54.4 receiving yards per game as an Eagle and has just three 100-yard games over his last 39.

Jeffery, 30, has also dealt with injuries and his explosiveness appears to be suffering. Jeffery has missed nine games over the last two seasons.

Contractually, Jeffery presents another problem as he is due a base salary of over $9 million in 2020 and $12.75 million in 2021. His cap hit in 2020 is about $16 million and releasing Jeffery before June 1st would actually cost the Eagles $10 million in cap space.

Hughes mentioned the Jets as a possible destination for Jeffery in his report. The Eagles wouldn't be seeking much for Jeffery, just a late-round pick most likely.
