Report: Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver arrested for DWI, unlawfully carrying a weapon

Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver was arrested Saturday night in Houston and held on one count of driving while intoxicated and one count of unlawfully carrying a weapon, according to MontgomeryCountyPolicereporter.com

Per the details of the report, the incident occurred just before 9 p.m. local time when another motorist called 911 stating the driver of a truck was failing to maintain a lane and driving dangerously in a construction zone. After deputies arrived, the report states they saw Oliver had an open beer between his legs. They performed a field sobriety test, then transported him to a local hospital for a mandatory blood draw. Deputies also discovered a pistol while searching his car. Oliver was taken to the Montgomery County Jail and charged with driving while intoxicated and unlawfully carrying a weapon. No drugs were found in the vehicle.
The Bills released a statement early Sunday morning which says, "We are aware of the situation and we are gathering more information. We will have no further comment at this point."
Oliver was selected ninth overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. He played in all 16 games, starting in seven of them, while recording 43 tackles and five sacks.
