After one year away from New York, Odell Beckham Jr. might be missing The Big Apple. According to a story from Sports Illustrated, an anonymous league source says the New York Jets could be a landing spot for the star receiver.
Two years ago, the New York Giants signed Beckham to a $95 million contract with $65 million guaranteed. One season later, the two sides parted ways with Big Blue sending Beckham to a preferred destination of Cleveland.Having played one season with quarterback Baker Mayfield and his wide receiver friend Jarvis Landry, Beckham could be on the move again. Although the anonymous source didn’t state Beckham was actively seeking a trade, they did say “Odell would welcome a return to New York.”
Pressed on whether or not he wants to be in Cleveland, "No one knows what the future holds. I couldn't tell you what's going to happen," Beckham added. His first season with Cleveland was the least productive of his career, averaging more than 20 yards per game less than any year with the Giants that he played in 12 games or more. Beckham finished 2019 with 74 catches and four receiving touchdowns while barely surpassing 1,000 yards. The Jets have a young developing quarterback in Sam Darnold, a glaring need for a stud wide receiver and a lot of money to spend this offseason. Gang Green’s leading pass catcher in 2019 was Jamison Crowder, with 833 yards and 78 receptions. But after witnessing Beckham fall out of favor in the same building with the Giants, would the Jets be willing to take a chance on being the 27-year old wide receiver’s third team in as many years?
