It seems like Tom Brady will not be heading to Tennessee to be its next quarterback.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Titans and Ryan Tannehill are now on the verge of a new multi-year extension, which would then eliminate them from going after Brady if he hits free agency.

[UPDATE: 2:30 p.m.]: NFL Media's Ian Rapoport says the two sides have agreed to terms. ESPN's Jeff Darlington adds it is a four-year deal worth $118 million total, an average of $29.5 million per year with over $60 million guaranteed.

Tennessee was thought to be a prime landing spot for Brady given his familiarity with head coach Mike Vrabel and their position in the AFC. The top teams remaining who have been connected to Brady are the Chargers, Raiders, and Buccaneers.

Tannehill was statistically one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL last season following taking over for Marcus Mariota. The Titans advanced all the way to the AFC title game before falling to Kansas City.

Brady is set to become a free agent on Wednesday if he's not re-signed by New England.
