The NFL continues to make progress towards a return of somewhat normalcy.

According to Yahoo! Sports' Charles Robinson, NFL head coaches could return to team facilities as early as next week and then players potentially coming a bit later leading to full-squad minicamps in mid to late June.

Minicamps could be as early as June 15 or as late as June 27 -- but it all depends on what the COVID-19 data says as well as getting approval from local governments.

Since these minicamp dates are a few weeks later than usual, it's likely the NFLPA would need to sign off on it. It is also worth wondering if this would also push back the start of training camps in late July a few weeks.

Up until now, teams have held their offeason workout programs virtually.

Many states, including New York and New Jersey, have said they support professional sports teams returning to practice in their individual states, which is a huge step towards sports returning as a whole.

This is just another sign that the NFL is trending towards starting the season on time in September.

“I think there definitely will be a football season this year,” Maimi owner Stephen Ross told CNBC Tuesday. “Real question is, will there be fans in the stadium? Right now — today — we’re planning to have fans in the stadium. … We all miss our sports. The NFL, I think, will be ready to go. I know we’re all looking forward to it. I know I am.”
