DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - One of the big questions heading into the NBA's return to action in Orlando has been how the games are going to feel atmospherically without team fans in attendance.

So far, each of the sports that have returned has done it a little differently, with European soccer putting crowd noise through the TV for the viewer, and professional micing up its players on the course during their matches.

In a recent interview with Steve Serby of the New York Post, Cuban explained that the NBA has a handful of ideas for this issue, including one, in particular, that would involved the fans of the 'home' team as much as possible.

“There will be a lot of technology we will be experimenting with to try to introduce noise and make the event more entertaining for players and TV viewers,” Cuban told the New York Post. “We have been having a lot of fun with apps that allow fans to push noise they make at home into the arena. So not only will there be competition on the court, there will be competition from fans to contribute energy as well.”

The league does have time to figure out a system, with games not set to return until July 31st, though it will likely face at least a few obstacles as it experiments with different forms of fan involvement.

Whatever the case may be, if what the NBA chooses is successful, they could very well set the standard for other professional sports upon their own returns to action.
