NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- New York Knicks legend Patrick Ewing, who announced on Friday he had tested positive for COVID-19, has been discharged from the hospital, his son Patrick Ewing Jr. announced Monday afternoon.
"My father is now home and getting better," he tweeted. "We'll continue to watch his symptoms and follow the CDC guidelines."
On Friday night, the NBA great announced, "I want to share that I have tested positive for COVID-19," he tweeted. "This virus is serious and should not be taken lightly. I want to encourage everyone to stay safe and take care of yourselves and your loved ones."
Ewing was under care and isolated at a local hospital, said a statement from Georgetown Athletics.
He was the only member of the Georgetown men's basketball program to test positive for the virus, the statement adds.
Ewing, 57, said at the time, "I’ll be fine and we’ll all get through this."
