Chase Young will not run, will not jump, will not twirl around and demonstrate his absurd athletic talents at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis this week. Because, frankly, he doesn't need to do that. The Heisman Trophy finalist did enough during his time at Ohio State to justify the hype as one of the most talented prospects in the draft.

“I definitely think I’m the best player in the draft. I think I showed it on tape," Young told the media Thursday.

"Definitely excited to play with the big dogs and excited to show the world what I can do."

Why did Young decide to skip the workouts?
“I don’t want to waste time being a combine athlete," he said.

But when it comes to meeting with potential teams, like the team who will pick No. 2, Young said he has a formal meeting scheduled for Friday.

Speaking of the Washington Redskins, Young said he grew up watching his hometown team.
“I always watch the Redskins,” he said, adding he was a fan of Sean Taylor and Clinton Portis
“Playing for my hometown people would definitely be a blessing," Young added. “Growing up in the area, it would mean a lot.”

Speaking with CBS Sports earlier, Young addressed the rumors of joining the Redskins and new head coach Ron Rivera.

"I never really looked at a mock draft or took it too serious," he said. "Wherever I end up, am a end up."

Young said he has talked with former teammate and Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins about linking up. "He definitely wants me to come play with him."
