Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette made it clear when he joined The Cook and Joe Show on Wednesday that he doesn’t expect football to return anytime soon.

“I don’t think they are going to play at all,” Bouchette said. “I just don’t see how you can have a football season.

Bouchette is talking to others around the league and reading what he can from the experts and although he admits that he is no expert on the spread of the virus form what he has learned there is no hope to be able to pull off football until we have a vaccine for Covid-19.

He does suggest that the NFL has the edge on the other sports to see how baseball is rolled out and see what happens with the NBA and the NHL which could help determine their decisions on how to open the season…but how do you separate players in football?

“I don’t see it happening, “ Bouchette added. “Unless there is some kind of miracle.”

Bouchette says one writer told him today in a chat that this (virus) will die off…but there is no expert willing to agree with that but rather  that this virus will continue to keep going until we have a vaccine and that would be the only way to get this rolling and for him to feel like he can return to cover a game in person.

He also told the guys that if football does find a way to play….it will be with people not in the stands and reporters most likely covering the games like they are now from their homes. That is fine with him because without a vaccine he wouldn’t attend even if he were permitted.

“If there is a risk from dying…No I’m not going to a football game.” Bouchette said.
