CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Andre Drummond intends to exercise the player option on hiscontract for the 2020-21 season the two-time All-Star center said on a podcast this week.

Drummond was a guest on the Le Batard & Friends STUpodity podcast this week where he confirmed his decision.

“Yeah, it's going to be hard to give up, so you can count on me being in Cleveland still,” Drummond said.

“I definitely will be in Cleveland.”

The player option will pay Drummond $28.75 million.

General manager Koby Altman’s gamble at the trade deadline paid off when he sent Brandon Knight, John Henson and the lesser of the Cavs or Warriors 2023 second-round picks to Detroit for Drummond.
