TORONTO (AP) — The honors keep rolling in for Bianca Andreescu.

One day after her hometown of Mississauga, Ontario, staged a "She The North" rally for the U.S. Open champion, neighboring Toronto proclaimed Monday "Bianca Andreescu Day."

Toronto Mayor John Tory noted her "amazing accomplishments" on Twitter and thanked her being an "inspiration to young athletes across the city." In his official letter, Tory wrote that Andreescu has "won the hearts of millions of Torontonians."

The 19-year-old Andreescu is Canada's first Grand Slam singles champion. She was scheduled to be Montreal on Monday for an open practice at IGA Stadium. She is expected to return to tournament play at the Beijing Open, which begins Sept. 28.
